For a long time now, women have been saying, “If a woman was President, things would be different.” The moment has finally come – Hillary Clinton is running for President. But something is terribly wrong.
Watching her campaign, you see and hear the same old things that the men are offering. She’s intelligent, she’s fearless, she’s tough. She’s all of the things the men are, and NONE of the things women are! That’s the problem.
We need to see Hillary sit down, preferably in front of a large audience, and throw away the notes and the formatted speeches. She needs to speak from the heart. Tell us about your policies, but tell us in your own words and show us how you FEEL about your policies. Tell us a little about growing up a girl. How it felt to be told you couldn’t do things because you were a girl. Tell us what you dreamed about. Let us identify with you!
Health Care? She needs to tell us how it was when she was a young mother and Chelsea was sick at three in the morning, and perhaps she didn’t have a lot of money. As a mother, she knows how it feels to have a sick child. Relate that!
The prisoners at Guantanamo? There has to be a better way to interrogate. As a woman, she knows that, and she needs to express it.
The economy? She knows how hard it is to be a first time home buyer. She knows how hard it is to raise a child when both parents have to work. Show us those feelings!
This is the chance for a woman to show the country that she IS different! In a way Obama can never be. She needs to show some emotion. She’s NOT one of the boys! She IS change! She’s a WOMAN.
